Founded by a group of friends who refused to act their age, Old Tossers has grown into one of the UK's most beloved over-60s communities — proof that the less you care about the wrong things, the more you enjoy the right ones.

Derek “The Skimmer” Thompson
Derek, 73, from Scarborough, has been skimming stones since he was a lad. His personal best? A magnificent 18 skips on a calm day at Filey Bay. “The secret,” he says, “is finding the right pebble. Flat, smooth, and about the size of a digestive biscuit.”
When he's not at the beach, Derek can be found in his allotment or arguing about cricket at the local pub. A true Old Tosser through and through.
